Four teenagers in the town of Chazy in Clinton County have been charged with hate crimes after they drew a swastika and wrote other anti-Semitic and racist “statements” on a building at the West Chazy Recreation Park.

State police say the boys used permanent marker to scrawl the grafitti. The incident occurred May 9 and was investigated by a special hate crimes unit that Governor Cuomo created last year.

The four have been charged with criminal mischief and class D felony hate crimes Three of the boys age 16 through 18 were arraigned in the Chazy Town Court, while a fourth, who is only 15 years old, was issued a ticket to appear in family court.
