MAJORITY OF HATE CRIME VICTIMIZATIONS GO UNREPORTED TO POLICE
Bureau of Justice Statistics June 29, 2017 WASHINGTON — U.S. residents experienced an average of 250,000 hate crime victimizations each year from 2004 to 2015 and the majority of these were not reported to police, the Bureau of Justice Statistics (BJS) announced today. There was no statistically significant change in the rate of violent
