After carving a swastika and other slurs into the hood of a Campus Safety vehicle and slashing its tires, a suspended Orange Coast College student was arrested for felony vandalism and a hate crime early Monday.

According to John Farmer, OCC’s chief of Campus Safety, the incident occurred around midnight outside the Campus Safety office. Farmer said that one of his staff members saw the suspect and identified him as Robert McDougal, a 21-year-old student who had been suspended for repeatedly disrupting a chemistry class in late February.
